BOLD Portal (authorized personnel only)

With recruitment sites across the United States, the BOLD Registry is collecting standardized patient-reported outcomes on patients 65 and older across a broad range of conditions, demographics, and health systems. As the BOLD Registry becomes established, we are planting seeds for new projects and ideas in order use the registry data to investigate other aspects of low back pain care.

Example projects may include:

Comparative and cost effectiveness evaluations of established treatments such as physical therapy.
Investigation of newer technologies in the early phase of their dissemination such as genome or proteome-based diagnostic tests.
Characterization of the incidence of falls and the relationship with back related function disability or pain.

If you are a researcher and would like to collaborate with the BOLD Project study team or have ideas for new projects involving the BOLD Registry, please send us an email at
